I have just heard on the grapevine the title of Bryan's new album.
Its entitled The Exceptionally Very Very Very VERY Best of Bryan Ferry Volume 10, and includes a new version of his 1976 hit 'Lets Stick Together'- the rip off mix. Oh and a bonus t…
A Roxy fan since 1975, 'Siren' was my first Roxy album and still remains a firm favourite. The essence of the lyrics and sound scape captivated me, these unique Roxy details I soon found in all the albums. What Roxy music means to me is an element I have never been able to define, for me that is the magic of the atmosphere Roxy evoke. I have seen Roxy in concert on three occasions, the 2001 tour been the last, although I did manage to see Bryan in concert on his Mamouna tour in 94. I am eager as we all are for the new album and hope for something in 2009, although all of these contradictory statements by the band only appear to me the usual way Roxy entice their fans. I think it adds to the anticipation, especially after hearing a snippet of the new material in the studio scene from the Roxy story on BBC 4.
The thing I like about Roxyrama is the detailed approach to the way it chronicles the band's history and the chance to make contact with other Roxy fans. As well as listening to the albums, I also enjoy reading all related material. I suppose most of you have read 'Both Ends Burning' by Jonathan Rigby but nevertheless
still recommend it as one of the best accounts by far. His song by song approach adds depth to the albums when you listen to them again.
When not engaged in any of the above I enjoy playing Classical Guitar and listening to Classical guitar music.
All that is left to say is 'Hi' to everyone here, its great to be in such good company.
Kind regards
Anthony.

pressed the wrong button and added comment before the end ! anyway no drawings at all and not like to be for a long time as I have some study to tackle in Jan for accreditation...boring. glad your idea is doing so well, you must be proud ..I forgive your caustic attack on the ever gorgeous Bry, but as I said on forum..without him there is no Roxy Music..maybe people are stamping on him and he is also ejecting pram toys!!
maybe our hearts are breaking ,they would nt know now ,would they.
Hi Anthony
what a nice surprise! thats the second time you have popped up when I am feeling decidedly low..which is strange.Family probs..my two 'ugly sisters' have been taking me for granted -they live down south, I look after our elderly mum and a few 'get back in your box' incidences have happened recently and boy am I throwing my toys out of the pram !..I make light of it but actually it is v.stressful. The harder they stamp, the harder I dig my heels in...all remarkably stupid as ,if the roles were reversed and I knew my mum was well cared for and I did'nt have to do much ,Iwould be making sure my sis was looked after by me. sorry,..still I am holding out for the happy ending, when I get the Prince, palace, slipper a few nice ballgowns ect,ect !lol
Hi Anthony ,forgive the repetion on the comment below, I thought I had lost my typing so started again !!!..such a techno incompetent !! thank God for pencil, paint and items not in any way reliant on being 'plugged in' !!
Hi Anthony
When he walks in the room....Nice to see you back ! The first verse is vibrant , but you seem 'edgy' with it ?..not quiet trusting your thoughts ....but the colour of images seems very good to me.
Some -one kindly put info on 'Vivaroxy music' site on here and if you go on it there is a wonderful scene of the Siren shoot , how they did it ect, it might inspire you....
Glad things are improving for you at last and I hope your project flourishes.
Judging by the posts on forum, poor Bryan is less than popular at present.
I got my 'thrill of it all' DVD last week from Amazon. Some of the footage was mundane but watching Bryan work his art was a bitter sweet joy.
Interviews of other celebs trying to identify the essence of Roxy was amusing, most just don't get it at all..especially Bono ! (whom I don't like, forgive me if you do )...but that's part of it's essence, many never 'got it'
I suppose exclusive doors don't just open for anyone !!
Take care

Reading some of the forum posts lately poor Bryan is unpopular at present. It's strange as I got my 'thrill of it all' DVD last week from amazon, some of the content was mundane but most interesting and watching him work his art'hear those slinky sirens wail !
Hi Anthony
realised I did 'nt really reply to your comment, which is odd,as I could'nt agree more.I think 77 was one of the worst years of my life(drama queen!)...but the onslaught of punk ,how I hated it then and now ? well it did what it said on the tin'flash in the pan -soon to vanish !'..Thank God !...my pal Helen had the dubious honour of a minor 'liason' with Jean Jaque Brunel ( probs got that name totally wrong)...'Stranglers'..seen at Unity Hall in Wakefield (yawn). I remember going home and playing my Roxy stuff in sad defiance !!!...so I completely agree ...hope Emblazon is making your starry eyes shimmer !
