I don't know where the article could be but if it was withdrawn by the author or her publisher one wonders why?

Ferry is a pretty private individual for one that is in the public eye-- although no celeb is truly private! Once you have your toe in the publicity bath then you are there for keeps I suspect especially if you are still active in your career and make public appearences. In that vein I suspect that he will not do anything at all about this or any other article-- other than perhaps give Otis the benefit of some fatherly advice and some Pearls of wisdom from someone who has--- or should have---a few grey hairs of experience!

My personal rant is about the disappearance of the press when there is a genuine newsworty question to be asked! Why did the crown ask the court to restrict Otis Ferry's liberty pending that court hearing charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice by interfering with witnesses etc--- when they were not prepared to support that charge or profer any evidence whatsoever in support of the allegation?

Now it may be that some kind of a deal has been done behind the scenes-- namely these charges are dropped in return for Otis admitting some form of reduced and technical "assault and robbery" in due course! But even that i find objectionable ( could go on at length here but this is probably not the place and everyone else would get correctly bored ) as it is a means of getting a "result" by threatening someone with more serious allegations in order to get them to admit lesser ones!!

Given the mass media coverage of all that is related to the hunting debate (a personal yawn from me on that one) it is frankly astonishing that the press have been so universally silent!!

Otis, even Bryan, is not that important in the current climate of financial hardship. flu pandemics, mass starvation, Government rip off,global warming and so on but the complete news blockage compared to the regular commentry that accompanied each month of his imprisonment is a hell of a turnaround!!!!!!!

Now I am definitely wittering and on a soap box so I will bugger off and leave everyone in peace!!!

i see where youre coming from Jim and you make some interesting points. one of them being that there are so many other pressing issues to adress,instead of speculating in peoples private lives...
but the press unfortunately sets the order of whats being talked about around watercoolers and whatnot...it must be a sign o the times;)

I noticed that, no activity on the actual page since Feb 21 and then suddenly someone (who seems to lurk here) decides to have the last ~~preach~~ word whilst having a dig at Mick in the process.

We need a light hearted piece of nonsense of a conversation-- anyone got any thoughts on a topic otherwise my mind will run rioyt and come up with something totally weird!!!!

I see that Bastion of truth honesty and accuracy called the daily telegraph has carried a couple of Articles on Otis Ferry's latest prounouncements of national interest.

On the one hand he was jailed for his beliefs and was well and truly targeted by the CPS and the Police!
On the other he gives a bit of a bazarre account of what he was charged with and what he ultimately plead guilty too! Turns out that he was apparently "Fitted up" by his former groom who apparently landed him in it and was then found to be "inconsistent"-- yet that apparent inconsistency was sufficient reason to deprive Otis of his freedom for 4 months!!!!!

Notwithstanding that, from Otis' own account of events he certainly had a few questions to answer.

However, as I said previously on this discussion, the whole final outcome smacks of a deal-- we will let you out, drop charges we could never justify, drop some more stuff if you plead to a technical commission of an offence-- oh and pay £100 costs!!!!!--- and we will get the daft taxpayer to pay for keeping you in Jail for months!!!!

My sympathy for Otis' engineered imprisonment wanes a great deal when I read his comments. Why can't this young man learn to keep his mouth shut, say little, and recover a little dignity and substance?

The foot notes are quite funny-- he apparently chatted up someone's daughter with the line "Do you know who my dad is?". It is no wonder that some young woman gravitated to the father ( if that is to be believed ) with a chat up line like that?

Can you imagine being a young single male in Glasgow coming out with a line like that? Or " I have a really good looking pal" or " My granny is a supermodel". " Do you know who my dad is?" is likely to be a genuine enquiry in some parts!

By the way he also says that glastonbury was rubbish and had too many old farts headlining and complains that they don't make room for the Younger acts. he goes on to then attribute certain comments to his father saying that DAD SAYS "the venue is not sophisticated enough!" and then opines that dad is pissed off cause he has just never been asked to play there!

I have no great time for the CPS actions here, and less time for the way that the press covered certain aspects of what happened and the method of coverage. However, the more you read, the more you come to the inescabable conclusion that Otis really is a prize twit of astonishing standards!!!!

If Bryan has ten or so recordings of Baa Baa Black sheep, jack and jill went up the hill, the grand old duke of york or anything else kicking about I just wish he would release them or put them on the net or something. Anything-- I repeat anything-- will do to take the focus of Humpty Numpty-- sorry I mean Otis!

Ah God Love ya Siobhan-- yer easily pleased!!!!

Now to business!!! What's the latest with the man? Have you been on the back of the matchmaking cart with him yet-- with a wee Barry fitzgerald type man driving you along country lanes and sneaking looks over the shoulder to make sure there is no impropriety?

Or have ya just sawn the legs off the bed to avoid the inevitable crash?

Don't be answering that last one in case you incriminate yoursel now and the thought police render your keyboard useless and only leave you access to Dunne's stores and Paddy Power-- they would have to leave the essentials!!

I gather the mother is away for a new hat and half a dozen bottles of stout as we haven't heard of her in months! She will have been accosted in the street by a man with a new tractor wearing his best braces by God! Maybe she has eloped with the playboy of the Western world-- a fine figure of a man-- not unlike myself but with all his own teeth and without the artificial appendage!!

Rght-- i'm away back to my book-- Lethargy for beginners--- Sure I'm only at the preface but is has been good so far--- sends me to sleep every time!!!

She met a nice man saturday night as daft as herself that helps haha He has rang her sinc No rush for the hat yet I am easily pleased but doesnt say i am easily lad haha

A woman with the fondness for a small brandy is worth the cultivating-- sure you can always rub it into your legs on a cold day as it stops the chaffing!

Now that post was thrown in months ago so things will have moved on since! And the mother? God Bless us and save us-- she has you out the house already with her meeting interesting men of a Saturday with the boldness of making their own phonecalls by God. Mind you a woman that is forward and goes phoning the man up is a different thing entirely-- A strumpet on the Trumpet or something like that-- so I'm told--- I never give out my phone number to strange women-- they could be plain clothes Garda who haven't made their arrest targets for the month and up for fitting me up with littering the bedroom floor with ould socks and others!

We need to know more about the Mother's man-- especially if he is " as daft as herself"! Has he escaped from somewhere-- a secure ward perhaps? Do you think if they went out together they would be a danger to the public? Should we alert the Airforce and the Navy?

Ah God love them. I hope she has the wooden legs well polished and fresh tobacco for the journey.
