The Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music Social Network - roxyrama.org

Hi, Roxyrama friends.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the "Deluxe & Delightful Edition" CDs for "Take Refuge In Pleasure: The Songs of Roxy Music Revisited" have arrived! They are absolutely gorgeous - I am truly rather blown away. Many list members have pre-ordered them (thank you!) - I will start sending them out to you this weekend. Also, I believe that some list members appear on the record - you will be getting your complimentary copies very soon, as well.

I won't apologize for the fact that this isn't as cool as a new Roxy Music release would be - that is of course out of my control. I will say, however, that I am very pleased to see that over a year's worth of hard work appears to have resulted in something pretty darned cool.

Cheers,
Alan
p.s. Those of you who would still like to order copies can do so at www.burningskyrecords.com (that's the only place they will be sold).

Alan-
Received my delux copy two days ago and have been playing it non-stop!
What a great line up of talent over these three cds! The songs remodelled in ways quite unique but keeping
with the core essence of Roxy.
Love the packaging you put together !Mr. Ferry and his style team would be very pleased I am sure!
I know this was a labour of love for you and your team and it shines through!
Good job,

Hi, all.

Thanks to everyone for the very kind words about the Deluxe & Delightful Edition of Take Refuge In Pleasure: The Songs of Roxy Music Revisited! I made the record with serious Roxy Music fans in mind, so to hear that you are enjoying it makes me very happy.

Information about how to order it is easy, since it can only be purchased at:

www.burningskyrecords.com

I only have a few boxes left - the response has been really amazing so far!

We do plan to get a copy to Mr. Ferry. I don't know if we'll hear anything from him about it, but he will have a copy of his own soon.

Cheers,
Alan

Mine arrived today, and I'll be listening to it over the next few days. I'm very impressed with the packaging. I particularly like the picture on the 'early' disc. Deluxe and delightful, indeed.

Thank you, Chris!

I am really pleased that you are pleased with the "Deluxe & Delightful Edition" package so far. I look forward to hearing what you think of the music!

There's a story behind so many aspects of the Deluxe & Delightful Edition, including the photo of Australian model Sigrid Baker that graces the "Early Roxy Music" sleeve. As many of you know, we conducted a global "Songs of Roxy Music Revisited Cover Model Search." As soon as I saw Sigrid and that particular photo, I knew it was likely that it would be one of the winners. (She had submitted some other photos, but I specifically asked her if she could submit that one). It's such a great combination of timeless beauty, innocence, and even mystery, and yet it has a decidedly modern twist, as well. (Look closely...)

There's more to the story than this, but perhaps it should remain a mystery...:)

Hope you like the music!

Cheers,
Alan

Ah Alan, you are such a tease, I am more than intrigued now, Come on spill the beans!!! haha ;-)

NP: Pyjamarama....Sartre's Lobster.......

It has to be my favourite so far, maybe its because i have listened to it for some time now, reminds me a bit of U2 at the end...."Follow you, follow you, follow you, follow you to the end sweet Angel" ;-)
