thank you Lockie
back on planet earth and rational once more....however the astrological rant remains true ....September is very likely to be Bry's fave month.
Aye , she wasn't pleased, you could say it was a hot cross bun ?
Sorry...... that was terrible ;))
Anyways , Dave Mathews Band at Secc on Thursday , I'm draggin ( no , not in high heels ) ma sons to see them , boy have I given them a hard life...
Yippi I cant wait till september um will I be engaged or married by then ha ha. what will it be May to September, September Song.these festivals must have booked months ago thats why this album was put forward
Bryan owes us nothing, other than to try and be as honest as possible with his fans and act in good faith. I'm sure they gave the Roxy album a fair try and it wasn't working out. I'd rather they pull back then release a subpar album that they don't feel is up to their standards!
As far as the solo release, YES, I'm sad I have to wait until September, but I am HAPPY that Bryan is releasing another album! He doesn't HAVE to release anything!!! He could just retire and say screw it all. So I feel blessed (hope that's not too strong a word) that he is going to release more original music. Everything I get from Bryan and/or Roxy at this point is gravy and bonus points.
Viva Roxy! Viva Bryan! YAAAAY SOLO ALBUM!!!
(I really hope it's longer than 45 minutes, but I'll take what I can get...)
Well he obviously doesnt want to release it before all the roxy gigs, which makes sense i guess... Hopefully a tour for Winter 2010/2011??
After you read and hear what manzanera/mackay and co. have said in the last few years i'm not surprised about there not being a new roxy album. And a Ferry solo effort is better than nothing! For all his harsh solo critics I think a lot of his best songs have been on solo albums
- so let's hope he's still got some good tunes left in him this fall :D
I would like to hear some original material - whilst i am dumb enough to buy anything Roxy or Bryan turn out.
Dylanesque was the very last thing i wanted -a whole album of Dylan covers-yawn!
that was a very lazy, unimaginitive & poor effort.
Personally, I don't like Bob Dylan and don't believe that it is the type of music that a Roxy fan would naturally gravitate towards. If i am correct, it would suggest that Bryan is out of touch with what we want
i'd like to know what you guys think ???
While I don't like Dylan either , I did enjoy Bryan's interpretations and the band's playing .Will any of it be in my top twenty Ferry/Roxy songs ? Naaahh , still , I'm really disappointed to see no mention of GPT , Manzanera , Mackay or even the excellent Chris Spedding appearing on the new cd . Hopefully wrong , and , what will become of the Roxy sessions ?
