The Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music Social Network - roxyrama.org

I have not seriously considered seeing a Roxy tribute band - as I have thought just not quite the ticket . There is one I have heard about Roxymagic - which plays all over but does have some gigs in my area - the Midlands - has anyone seen them - or any other tribute band ? If so were they any good. Hope its not too heretical a subject - just curious. I did see an Elton John tribute - he was quite good. As Bryan and the boys are being sooooo slow in coming up with the new album and no tour in sight and Bryan with no dates in the UK - thought it might provide a a distraction.............

You saw two today? Live or on youtube?? Saw Roxy Magic live for the first time last week and it was hugely enjoyable - not Roxy of course but an absolute delight to see the music celebrated and played with sheer appreciation and skill - For Our Pleasure...

Heard a lot about Roxy Magic, I'll check them out tomorrow.Think the link was on RoxyRama, which directed me to My Space..Didn't think I'd like any of them, but impressed with the Dutch bands versions of the early stuff.

I wish I could go Shazza as that would be a real laugh--- one of these days!!!

Fin, best of luck with the gig I hope it goes well!

I'll just amuse myself with the guitar and amp and a few bad covers of my own!

Mind you I would be better off with bed covers!

I really want you to go !! ( to Roxyrama I mean , not just go )...mind you I think if us two ever met up , trouble would follow ...add Helen and Sue to the mix and we would probably make 'News at Ten !!.....anyway I will just have to terrorise Fin and Mr O'Ferry instead ....Did i mention I was on the guest list ? LOL..( I am actually, thanks Fin )

Hi Olly
glad you are on the ole forum...its fun ,vibrant opinions (see latest Bryan rant).informative and full of humour.....in need of another Roxyrama nite!
desperately trying to fathom a way of reaching Rotherham, as 2010 seems even further away than a new Roxy Music album!!!

" Desperately trying to reach Rotherham!"

Sounds like road movie featuring Cyril Smith and Gracie Fields-- with maybe Will hay and the Three Stooges thrown in for good measure!

And what is this about the latest Bryan "rant " I am swooning with fatigue and shock, dear thing, surely-- ( pauses for effect in the best literary tradition of Mills and Boon )-- surely (note the clever double use of the same word ) you cannot be referring to my carefully crafted critiques of this current state of non productive morass?

Nay nay and Thrice nay I say-- I will not have it.

Standards on here are slipping, far too much frivolity and nonsense and no musical content.

Fortunately on the link below I can exclusively reveal Bryan's latest photo and his latest set of classy lyrics written especially for the members of this here forum.

enjoy!

Gee aint it funny how time slips away ? it seemed eons ago that I would have to wait before Roxyrama played another gig , but in just 3 short weeks - 5th feb at the 'snooty fox' in Wakefield...Roxyrama will be helping an eager audience to dance away the heartache, or just practise their thow away lines....brill ! just what is needed to melt away the last remnants of snow and ice...well worth seeing for anyone that has 'nt yet.
